Winter is a very special time in Tasmania
With its clear and bracing sunny days, followed by cool, crisp nights. It is a time of snow capped mountain peaks and peppermint logs crackling on an open fire.
While these are very good reasons to conference in Tasmania during winter - the Tasmanian Government would like to offer you one more!
National or international associations that conference in Tasmania between 1 May and 30 September are eligible to apply for the ‘Meet in Tasmania Incentive'. Qualifying organisations are entitled to receive $30.00 per international/interstate delegate ($15.00 in September), up to a maximum of $15,000.
How to Apply?
If your conference meets the Eligibility Criteria (below) and your dates and venue are confirmed, please complete this registration form no later than one month prior to your meeting commencing.
We will then send you verification forms to be completed and returned after your conference.

Eligibility Criteria
- Only association conferences are eligible to apply.
- Conference dates must be between 1 May and 30 September.
- Only meetings being held in Tasmania for the first time, or, which have not been held in Tasmania within the last five years are eligible.
- Delegates attending the association conference must have paid a registration fee and there must be a properly constituted program of discussion.
- Minimum attendance at the conference is 20 international and/or interstate delegates.
- Delegates must stay a minimum of two nights at an accredited accommodation establishment.
Conditions
- May - August conferences: incentive of $30.00 for each international and interstate delegate. September conferences: incentive is $15.00.
- The conference or meeting must be registered with Business Events Tasmania not less than 30 days before the start of the event.
- Claims must be submitted within three months of the close of the conference or meeting.
- Incentive payment is made to the association, not to the individual delegates, after the meeting has been held and upon production of verification forms, provided by Business Events Tasmania.
- Maximum claim is $15,000.
- The cash incentive is funded by the Tasmanian Government and is subject to budget limitations. The incentive payments will be allocated, up to any limit imposed, in the order in which applications were registered with Business Events Tasmania.
