How to Bid for an Event

The first step in bidding for a business event is a phone call to Business Events Tasmania. Once we know about the event, the team can help the local host bring it to Tasmania.

Before an association or corporation chooses a destination for their business event, several destinations generally submit ‘bids’ to win the right to host that business event or meeting.

A successful bid can take considerable time to put together and requires both professionalism and team work.

  • Researching the opportunities provided by the event (social and economic potential for Tasmania)
  • Marketing Tasmania to the key decision maker
  • Sourcing quotes/proposals from local venues, products and service providers
  • Funding for the business event
  • Bringing in the key decision maker on a site inspection (fully hosted)

During the bid process, it's our goal to demonstrate why Tasmania is the best place to hold an event. We need to 'sell' Tasmania over other destinations in terms of our infrastructure, our venues, our accommodation, our activities, our service, our climate and our people.
