Located in the heart of Hobart’s city centre, Grand Mercure Hobart Central Apartments and Mercure Hadleys Hobart Hotel is Tasmania’s newest / oldest hotel apartment and conferencing complex set to reenergise the CBD area of Hobart. 

The new multimillion dollar Grand Mercure development on Collins Street, built adjacent to the historic 71-room National Trust Listed Hadleys Hotel, has added a further 125 luxury apartments, extensive food and beverage outlets and conferencing facilities to Hobart.

While Mercure Hobart Hadleys Hotel, built in 1834, is Tasmania’s oldest continuously operating boutique hotel and has played host to some of the most celebrated characters to have lived or visited Hobart, including late actor Errol Flynn and Antarctic explorer Roald Amundsen. 

The hotels’ location on Murray Street is only 20 minutes from Hobart International Airport and a leisurely five minute walk from Hobart’s business and government centres, Salamanca Markets, Constitution Dock, the Hobart waterfront and shopping precinct, making it a perfect base for both business travellers and holidaymakers.

Accommodation

Grand Mercure Hobart Central Apartments is an eight level development offering six levels of accommodation with a variety of 125 self-contained luxury apartments and hotel rooms. The eighth floor features one Penthouse with entertaining decks and nine Deluxe Apartments with hot tubs and breathtaking views of Hobart, the River Derwent and Mount Wellington.

The new rooms have been fitted with luxurious Sleepmaker king beds, climate control heating and cooling, sensor lighting, flat screen LCD TVs in the bedroom and lounge, bathrooms with rain showers, washing machine and dryers (apartments only), dark timber window shutters, leather lounge, tub chairs, work station, dining table and state-of-the-art connectivity.

The historic Mercure Hobart Hadleys Hotel features 71 fully restored accommodation rooms ranging from standard, executive and family rooms to a well-appointed Heritage Suite. Special access rooms are available on request.

Facilities

Both hotel properties share a dedicated Food and Beverage, Reception and a Conference and Events Centre on the ground floor. 

 The new Grand Mercure Conference and Events Centre offers a fantastic CBD location combined with the privacy and romantic atmosphere of a Heritage Listed Sandstone Building – the original part of the Cascade Brewery and once used to store wedding horse and carts.

The Stables Conference Room is set to become Hobart’s premier venues with its thick sandstone walls, small recessed windows, outlined timber floors and a pitched roof, creating a highly sort after atmosphere for any specialty event. The space also boasts wooden arched entrance doors which open out onto a glass enclosed atrium, perfect for a pre-function gathering.

With a variety of events spaces to suit meetings, conferences, trade shows and gala balls, the Grand Mercure Conference and Events Centre can cater for events up to 250 guests. A three level secure undercover car park can comfortably service in-house guests as well as conference delegates utilising the new conference facilities.
