Nestled alongside Macquarie Harbour, Strahan is an enchanting and scenic village located in World Heritage wilderness on Tasmania's west coast. The town is a fishing port which was brought to prominence as the home of the infamous Sarah Island Penal Settlement. Today, Strahan is recognised for it unique location, embraced by some of the world_'s last remaining temperate rainforests, majestic mountains and the mighty Gordon River.

Strahan Village can set your delegate's tastebuds alive! Its creative menus are inspired by the fresh local produce of the region, such as Atlantic salmon farmed in the pristine waters of Macquarie Harbour.

Delegates can dine in View 42€ Restaurant, the licensed Fish Cafe or at Hamers Bar & Grill. Or for a unique Strahan experience, why not enjoy a sunset dinner cruise in the Gordon River aboard the Lady Jane Franklin II, brunch at a 100-year-old train station on the remote Tasmanian wilderness, enjoy a twilight BBQ on West Strahan Beach or simply enjoy pre-dinner drinks on the balcony with the sunset over the harbour as the perfect backdrop.

Located on the hilltop with floor to ceiling window views overlooking Macquarie Harbour, the Henty Room can accommodate 80 guests theatre-style. Breakout rooms are available for smaller groups and the nearby View 42€ Restaurant offers lounge and balcony seating for catering or informal breakouts.

Gordon River Cruises
Journey into the lower reaches of the Gordon River onboard the state-of-the-art catamaran, Lady Jane Franklin II, and view the temperate rainforests with Huon pines, mirror calm waters and spectacular views. For the ultimate indulgence, why not have exclusive use of the Captain's Premier Upper Deck with leather seating, a private viewing deck and a gourmet chef-prepared lunch?

The Lady Jane Franklin II is also ideally suited for private functions such as a seafood buffet cruise, sunset cocktail party or a themed BBQ dinner ashore on the convict settlement of Sarah Island..

West Coast Wilderness Railway
Hailed as one of the great railway journeys, this 35 kilometre railway of tight curves and spectacular bridges meanders through rugged wilderness, dense rainforest and steep gorges. This is a remarkable railway, born from a frontier spirit on the edge of civilisation and built against all the odds by remarkable people. For a catered event to remember, why not have a breakfast or a long table dinner on the station platform with a steam engine for company, or simply a boxed lunch or gourmet BBQ at Dubbil Barril Station.

Piners and Miners
Your intimate guided Piners and Miners signature experience, involving up to eight guests, takes you into rarely explored World Heritage wilderness and shares the story of two feuding Irishmen, a railway through the rainforest and the once-thriving port town of Pillinger. This is a full day journey travelling in a unique Hi-Rail vehicle via the scenic Bird River track with full interpretation of the flora and fauna and with a superb lunch of Tasmanian seafood and fine cool-climate wines, before returning to Strahan on the luxury cruiser, Second Nature.

Gordon River Paddle
The Gordon River full-day signature experience on Tasmania's west coast, combines a cruise on Lady Jane Franklin II with a sea kayak trip to experience the true character of a wilderness river. The cruise boat departs Strahan for the voyage across Macqarie Harbour and into the Gordon River. From Heritage Landing, the kayaks are launched for the quiet paddle upstream. Enjoy lunch on the riverbank before a lazy drift back to Heritage Landing to meet the afternoon sailing of Lady Jane Franklin II.
